Shinae Kim, Clarinet

A professional musician and educator for 20 years, a Korean-American clarinetist, pianist, and composer. Shinae Kim is an established
performing artist, an international competition winner, and a highly-acclaimed recording artist and educator.
During her six year study with the world renowned clarinet virtuoso, Charles Neidich, Ms.Kim graduated Magna Cum Laude from The Aaron Copland School of Music (ACSM) at Queens College CUNY for her Bachelors and Masters degree in Music Performance, was a three time recipient of the Dorothy and Grosser Woodwind Excellence Award and a two time recipient of the Discimus ut Serviamus Awards. 
Ms. Kim is an enthusiastic musician with solo performances as well as chamber and orchestra and has made many opera appearances. She has made many recordings, such as CCM, gospel music with clarinet, solo and orchestral arrangements, and new compositions in South Korea, Mexico , China, Canada and USA.

Currently, Mrs. Kim is the founder/artistic director of SNS(saturday night sonorities) and a panel judge for The New York Young Artist International Competition, the clarinet positions for "Caught in a snare", WMO at Carnegie, New Klang quartet, the New York Wind Orchestra, and Principal Clarinet positions for Astoria Choir Orchestra (ACO), Empire Chamber Orchestra (ECO) and Queensboro Symphony orchestra (QSO). 
Most recently, her performance appeared at David Geffen hall of Lincoln center as representing a "Celebration of Stephen Kittenplan" who was one of highly recognized patrons of New York Philharmonic orchestra and Met Opera.

She has vigorously maintained her private teaching for 20 years in the East Coast while serving at YNPC of New York as music
director.  She is the proud mother of two daughters, Ashley and Olivia.”
